Saying “I do” to a Jewish Persia

We definitely appreciate that our client base in Georgia is growing, and we loved working with this fun couple! The bride’s family is Persian, and the groom’s family is Jewish. It was nice seeing the two cultures blend so seamlessly to make their wedding the best it could be. The Persian side could be seen in the large sofreh at the altar, and also in the honey ceremony. There was a beautiful Jewish chuppah, and of course the groom stomped on the glass at the end of the ceremony. The two wed at the Roswell River Landing with the beautiful Chattahoochee River in the background. There were some comical moments when people floating down the river passed by with their music blaring, but the bride and groom laughed it off. It was a day full of love and laughs.

New Year Nuptuals

We had the opportunity to photograph a wedding at the end of the year for one of our friends from church. We always see it as an honor when a friend wants us to be a part of their special day. It was a small ceremony where the attendants were the bride’s sister, and the groom’s sons. The love we witnessed that day was evident everywhere we looked. At least we live here in the south so when we went outside to take pictures, it wasn’t too cold. The bride even had a lovely fur shawl to keep her warm.

Sassy Senior Photos

On this unusually below freezing day here in Atlanta, I’m reminded of this great photo shoot. It was supposed to be a very rainy day, but it ended up being beautiful, though a little muggy. This girl was fun to shoot, and more of a tomboy than our usual female clients. She even brought her dog along with her to join in on the fun. The dog didn’t seem to mind the heat that day, and neither did anyone else.
I can’t wait until this winter is over and I can get back to doing what I love!

Senior portraits with memories from the past

I’ve found that one of my favorite places to photograph is the Marietta Square. This lovely girl and her mother joined me there on a rather hot day for some photo fun. Her photogenic personality seemed to bubble through in every photo, regardless of the southern summer heat. She even brought an old headband she wore in her first ever school picture. It almost brought tears to her mom’s eyes to see her little girl all grown up.

I apologize for the great delay in between these posts. I will try to do better in the future!

Love never fails. Love never ends.

Hello! I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted. SHP is under construction, so I’ve been wanting to wait until it’s done. We are almost there! However, this post needed to be pulished.

I was blessed enough to have photographed my grandmother-in-law’s wedding.  Yes, my husband’s grandmother got married this past summer. I have never seen such love and joy during a wedding from all those involved. It was a demonstration that love knows no age, no limit.

That being said, the groom passed just a few days ago. So now is the perfect time to showcase their love. It was a small, quaint wedding in the bride’s backyard. The groom arrived on a big green tractor, and that’s also how they left after the ceremony. It was such a lovely afternoon that will forever live in our hearts.

Beautiful Baby………BOY!

I had the opportunity to photograph a friend’s newborn son. (I also photographed the mom and dad’s wedding several years ago!) The couple decided to wait to learn if they were going to have a son or daughter. Their handsome young man was an angel to shoot and barely fussed! For being only one week old to the day, he was a great model.

Brother’s Betrothal

I was overjoyed to hear that my twin brother was engaged, and even more elated that I was able to take their engagement photos! They truly are the all-American couple – a firefighter and a teacher. We roamed around downtown Longview finding more industrial locations to photograph. And of course we had to take some at the fire station, too! It was one of my favorite shoots because I got to see how happy my brother is with his fiance.

Straight from the Horse’s Mouth

Some of you may or may not know that I love horses. I used to teach lessons and run riding programs for high schoolers at a summer camp. I loved it! I’ve been missing it lately, so here’s my collection of favorite pictures from the camp. Riding was something I never thought I’d do, and it brought me such joy. You form a bond with your horse; he perks up when he sees you, almost smiles when you take him for a ride. It is this bond with a very special horse I am missing these days.

Country Chic Wedding

I was able to photograph a wedding in my hometown in Texas! I knew the groom from middle school, and my brother was in the wedding. It was fun seeing friends and being able to document the day. It was a small ceremony in a chapel restored by the bride’s father and grandfather. The reception was outdoors and full of country charm!

California Wedding Weekend

It’s great being able to photograph your friend’s wedding! It was lovely being able to witness the love between the bride and groom. The wedding took place outside next to a running brook and sequoia trees. There were personalized touches, like hand-made wrapping paper at the rehearsal dinner, and hand-made jewelry for the bridesmaids!
