Even with all the digital advances of photography, sometimes there’s nothing better than a great black and white print. We’ve come a long way from working with plate glass prints and darkroom chemicals. Yet at the same time, this classic will never go out of style! The texture stands out more, and you see the underlying beauty.
I had a chance in college to intern with Southern Exposure Magazine, in Franklin, Tennessee. I shadowed their main photographer, went on assignments just for me, and I also had to come up with my own assignments. It was a wonderful experience I’ll never forget!
I helped another local photographer with this wedding. It took place at a small, quaint museum in the greater Atlanta area. Even though it threatened to rain most of the day, it ended up being a lovely event. Best of luck to the lovely couple!
Okay, so here’s the deal. I like this picture for its artistic value, but I’m not sure I like it enough to put on my main webpage. Ideas? Questions? Comments? Tommy, my husband, loves it. I’m not so sure…
So, this is my special tribute to one of my favorite “models” I’ve worked with – Bronwen Myers! She is so photogenic, and genuinely pleasant to be around. Some of these photos are from our trip to India, and some are from Principia College, in Elsah, Illinois.
I really enjoy taking artistic photographs. Pictures of ordinary things in a new, unique way. I’ve never been a real artsy person, so it’s wonderful to find a new outlet. If there was some way I could just walk around take pictures as I feel them, and make a living off of it, that would be a dream!
Birmingham, Alabama has the most beautiful, FREE botanical garden tucked away in downtown. Go anytime of year to experience gorgeous gardens, terrific tress, and fabulous flowers. I went in late November, and I’d love to go back again in the spring or summer.
Congratulations to the Newsom family on their wonderful new addition, Izzie! Her older brother and sister were ecstatic to hold her and take pictures with her. This was my first time taking photos with children so young. It was a great learning experience.
I had to opportunity to travel to Florida for a friend’s wedding. The lovely couple said “I do” on a beach at sunset. Between the sand in our toes and being surrounded by love, it was a fabulous evening.
